Yea!!
That's Awesome!
We will have to try a few games in a couple of months time.

I really like the freeborn models and the Algoryn! Ahh I'm all excited for gates of Antares I have to paint so many orks before I can let myself get onto this new train! Maybe we can do a Slow grow for Antares at the club next year sometime?

Sounds like a plan if we can get a few more takers.

I am keen to get into a new scifi, I dont see myself playing much 40k in the future :(

I do like the Freeborn, but cant we just use existing sci-fi miniatures? it is a 28mm game?

I can't see why you couldn't, though I don't know how complicated the wargear is, and how difficult it would be to tell one unit from another.

I like Bolt Action, but none of the GoA models grab me. I like the Asterians coming out of Mantics Warpath, but they are not going to be available for another year. Lots can happen in 12 months ;)

It will be a bit of time before we get our packs and have the models painted up, I think that the veicle releases are going to be very cool, I can't see why you couldn't use existing sci fi models most of the weapons are pretty basic and are split over favtions unless there specialty weapons, although warlord do great army deals, for 70pound you can get a full army that will be pretty solid in most missions.

I also think that if the correct models are being used it might arouse some interest in other gamers to possibly start up a new sci fi

There was for the play test/beta version but I think they've taken it down ahead of the release. I don't know if there will be a free one again but it is probably worth their while doing it.

An article up about the Ghar today, the most interesting thing I found was all the photos of people's models, with close up pics and different colour schemes!

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the models, they look really interesting to build and paint.

yeah I liked the photoshop one with the arm weapon firing!! The sprues look pretty straight forward for the ghar, but it looks like you will still get a lot of multi-posing with the arms at least.
I have been on the site forum looking at C3 paint schemes. I think I will be going with all white and black trim (STORMTROOPERS :P ) or with the green and cream studio paints!

My box came on Friday, did you get yours Russell?

Minis look really detailed, and the rulebook is huge. It is more complex than Bolt Action by a fair way, but Bolt Action is very simple. The fact you use d10s is a big difference.
