For those who want direct to the link, this takes you to the google doc. There should be another update on 19th of April.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =549196905

Solid buffs for the Orcs there, I should definitely try out this wardrum. A morax troop certainly looks more feasible. Ill have to work in a wardrum somewhere to give it a go, looks quite strong for an infantry style list.

Interesting that mounts have gone up in price for flaggers, 10 pts was quite hefty now it really is a very important choice.

I quite agree Ratlady.

Boothy Baby did a bit of maths comparing Bolt Throwers to a similar bolt-throwing weapon (Basilean Arbalest) and found the following:

"doing the maths they inflict almost exactly the same amount of damage as elven ones point for point (maths on 6 bolt throwers vs 9.33 ballistas sees the bolt throwers inflict an extra two hits per turn)."

That seemed fair enough to me at the time as the Arbalest has Pericing 3 and 2+D3 blast, so it hits harder than the Bolt Thrower when it does hit.......but that was when the Basilean Bolt Throwers were 45pts in the original V2 army list (in the V2 PDF document released mid-March). Now that the Basilean Arbalest has been increased to 65 pts it seems that an even bigger gap has opened between these two weapons.

One of the playtests done by Werewomble and published on the Mantic forum also pointed out the low cost of the Elven Bolt Thrower relative to pretty much all other war engines, going on to suggest that the Elven Bolt Thrower should really cost 80-85 points, which seems pretty right to me (I'd vote for 80 pts).

I agree about the Elven bolt thrower, most likely something that has been talked about but got missed in the fixing stage. Considering the weekly turn around I wouldn't worry too much

Overall:

With some limited play testing I think Orcs are in a decent spot right now with these slight buffs. I definitely think that the Wardrum may either be peeled back seeing as it wasn't getting taken in the first place they wanted to buff it to see its use. Ill have to try and get a game or 2 in of Orc infantry, it won't be pretty as I have a very cavalry focused army.

I think the 5 point shooting upgrades (Warbow of Kaba and Kevinars flying hammer) are a steal at 5 points, they are basically Lightning! (1) for a cheaper cost. Brew of Haste may be too cheap at 15 points.

I feel like we are pretty close to achieving great balance. All the changes for the second part are pretty spot on. I am very happy with how this Beta is progressing

I finally managed to get my access approved on the Mantic forums, and have made a post about the Elven BTs in the Rules Discussion board in case anyone wants to comment there.

The Twilight Kin have been added into the V2 list in provisional format. You can now find them included within the V2.4 army lists on the Mantic Forum (follow this link).

As noted in the post this interim list will probably change when they get around to developing a final TK army list but in the meantime it provides the opportunity to use your TK models in V2.
