I'm aware there's some decent interest in Lion Rampant, but wondering if there are any players of Dragon Rampant, the fantasy version of the game. My fantasy miniatures are locked away at the moment at a Grace Removals storage shed, but I'll be sorting my old warhammer, mantic and misc. models into warbands mid next year, as soon as I have access to them.

Does anyone else here play, or interested to try? I picked up the book from tactics...looks very close to lion rampant and a good way to utilise all your old fantasy models. Thinking of buying reaper bone models as a cheap way of mustering a force.

I'm interested.

Has a half-built LotR orc/goblin army with evil wizard and flying wyrmling at home.

The best thing I found is you can mix-n-match miniatures from different manufacturers. Which is good enough excuse to buy & paint those Reaper Bones miniatures ;)

I agree. Mantic, Warlord and Reaper models are all illustrated in the rule book, and it's refreshing to be able to use any kind of model you want. Most games have troop types exclusive to their range, but dragon rampant allows you to mix and match. All those odd fantasy models you were going to sell, toss out or feel obliged to add to to make a viable force in their own game system suddenly have a use.

I'll be in touch about playing - give me a few weeks to buy and paint up...

I've got the rules as well, and I've got lots of minis I could use. It'd be a fun thing to do a campaign with.

It would... Maybe that's something we could try later, if there's enough interest and players.

A Lion Rampant Fantasy campaign sounds like a good idea for some time next year. Lots of LoTR/Hobbit SBG minis to choose from (including a largely unpainted Mordor list). Might be just the thing I need to get them painted.

This thread was actually about dragon rampant, but I agree. Having a few one off games this year and them something ongoing next year. Lets players get their forces in order and find out what works for them.

I'd like to play in both kinds of campaigns - dragon and lion rampant.

I think there's a lion rampant one happening now or soon, but I'm more a historical enthusiast, and the current campaign is based around game of thrones, which I don't like...
But if we could have a campaign based on the Hundred Years' War or the war of the roses, that would be good. I call dibs on the Yorkists. :)

Oops, my bad. I meant to say Dragon not Lion, but as per your reply mixing it up a bit with both systems could be a lot of fun.
