Hi OSOI, quick question about the Round 1 bonus. Do you have to refrain from spending SS and cheating in Turn 1 as well? And when you say each turn after Turn 1 do you mean consecutive (i.e. Turns 2 and 3) or just after?

Pretty easy to pick up the points then if you're well ahead by Round 4 or 5. Still, the same applies to everyone so I'm fine with that.

I just had a thought with the round 1 challenge particular the card discard, does that count for every discard incident or just at the end close phase?
just thinking of those moments when one has to dicard to use abilitys or force opponants to discard etc like headshots and deadmans hand.

Counts for every discard during the turn so if someone is hitting you with an insta kill except if you discard effect then you have a tough choice to make if you want to earn the points or keep the model. Its not an easy LP to earn under certain circumstances. It will affect a whole raft of abilities such as flurry, rapid fire, headshot, decapitate, slit jugular, relentless etc. Its a sizable reward but also comes at a significant cost

Does that count at the start of turn? For instance shangs ability lets me draw an extra card in my hand when I draw my control hand and then discard a card. Does this count?!

I'm going to say yes as it happens in the draw pahse of the turn ... you may just not want to hire shang for the game if you are going for the bonus points.

Yes that is affected too.

As I said if you want to play for the bonus points it is seriously going to affect your playstyle for a turn or two but they are a big reward

Brookesy, paulfrank, Draco2075 (Nic) and I got together yesterday to play out Rounds 1 and 2 games. Thanks to Brookesy and paulfrank for coming round and making a day of it. I know Nic and I really enjoyed ourselves.

Round 1
WanderingFool v Brookesy
WanderingFool (Somer)
Turf War
Breakthrough
--
6VP
4LP (3+1)

Brookesy (Lucius)
Reconnoitre
Bodyguard (Lucius)
Assassinate (Somer)
0VP
2LP (0+2)

This was a very even game up until Turn 4, with Brookesy slightly in front courtesy of a Red Joker assisted kill on my Warpig. Top of turn 4, Brookesy went with an alpha strike that took out a few Gremlins but wasn't quite as effective as Brookesy might have hoped. Then I activated my mosquito in the middle of his crew and used Parasitic Infestation to turn Lucius into another mosquito - unfortunately, neither of us remembered that the mosquito can only use Soulstones to boost Somer's spells using Magical Extension. Made the same mistake a second time to kill a Guild Guard. *Sigh*

Draco2075 v paulfrank
Draco2075 (Von Schill)
Reconnoitre
Hold-out (undeclared)
Grudge (undeclared)
2VP
3LP (3+0)

paulfrank (Seamus)
Treasure Hunt
Frame for Murder (Sybelle, undeclared)
Hold-out (undeclared)
0VP
0LP

A very close game that ended with Avatar Seamus and Sybelle chasing around a Freikorp trapper and librarian. The Librarian managed to play keepie-off with the treasure counter and Nic's undeclared schemes were enough for the win. One of the best moments was the Freikorp specialist dying mid-game, using Slow to Die to detonate his tanks to strike at everybody except Sybelle and then blowing up on death for a further 3" pulse.

Round 2
WanderingFool v paulfrank
WanderingFool (Somer)
Line in the Sand
Assassinate (Seamus)
--
6VP
4LP (3+1)

paulfrank (Seamus)
Supply Wagon
Bodyguard (Molly)
Steal Relic
2VP
1LP (0+1)

The mysterious terrain was a Creepy Structure in the middle of the table. Turn 2, Seamus got into a fire-fight with Raphael and Ophelia LaCroix. Top of Turn 3, paulfrank won Initiative and manifested Avatar Seamus, but that took 2AP. Then the LaCroix companioned and their combined fire took Seamus out (I needed a bit of luck as I'd forgotten I had a mosquito in melee range of Seamus so there was a chance of shots hitting the mosquito, but none did). After that paulfrank had trouble mustering enough firepower to compete with the Gremlin gunline. Molly proved her value once again, though, summoning a new Belle pretty much every turn after the first and avoiding any serious harm even after her Grave Spirit totem was killed. Both paulfrank and I had great fun interacting with the Creepy Structure. We figured it must have been a Wizard's Tower as we got 6 soulstones from it over the course of the game.

Draco2075 v Brookesy
Draco2075 (Von Schill)
Claim Jump
Stake a Claim
--
6VP
2LP (1+1)

Brookesy (Lucius)
Treasure Hunt
Bodyguard (Lucius)
Stake a Claim
6VP
2LP (1+1)

This was a great game, in the balance almost till the last flip. At the start of Turn 6 both players had 6VP. Brookesy moved Ryle to contest the Claim, Nic moved Von Schill and a Ronin to try and take out the three dogs holding the treasure counter. Von Schill killed one dog but flipped Black Joker for damage against the second and the Ronin just managed to reach courtesy of Melee Expert but missed. Then Ryle was <3mm from being completely within 3" of the Claim marker, so 6VP each is how they finished.

Brookesy, paulfrank, if you would please confirm and fill in my blanks? Brookesy, Nic just mentioned that she thought your second scheme against her may have been Stake a Claim on the Creepy Structure, in which case I think you won because Lucius finished next to it?

Against Nic my schemes were Frame for Murder (Sybelle) and Hold Out, both undeclared.
I managed to achieve Hold Out! Frame for Murder proved a little tough to achieve after Von Schill died

Izamu was a boss in his game! 3" melee is sweet :D
And Molly is my 'gal (in Malifaux at least). She's always (wo)man of the match! 5 rounds of summoning, 5 successful summons

It was Stake A Claim but it was on the building just ahead of the Creepy Structure which Lucius couldn't quite reach (10" only goes so far), so he attempted to sniper a guy instead. Other than that, I will confirm all results as being accurate :D
