Just putting the feelers out, I'm thinking of running a slow grow/escalation early war league, probably starting January/February 2016.

I'm open to ideas about restrictions, but it would be something along the lines of using themed theatre lists 1939-42*, and only playing with painted models.

I'm also thinking of making it a bit of a roadshow, and having game nights at different clubs.

If you're keen, please let me know. And if you're from a club (other than Outpost, who I know about already!) or know someone from one who might be interested, please let me know.

Cheers

LIST OF INTEREST

Pbeccas--Australians (North Africa)
Grimgut--Germans (Battle of France)
Orange--French (Battle of France)
Itchmonkey--Germans (Barbarossa)
Mikey--Kiwis (North Africa) or Germans
Advanceop--Germans (Barbarossa)
Eckythump--Germans (Heer/FJ)
Reaper--Australians (PNG)
Soutek--Soviets
Ted--British
Youngy--Japanese
Rathnard--Japanese
Soilworker--Germans (DAK)

LIST OF POTENTIAL INTEREST
Wolfram--Finns
Jack--US
Thorhorseman--US or Germans

*changed to '42 to allow various similar lists--if there's something you really want to do not in this range, please let me know.

Does it mean the Germans have to wear jackboots?

Just asking cause I'm more interested in late-war German army.

Likewise I'm more of a fan of late war and will take on any excuse to finish my SS or take on a new terrain project.

I don't think it would matter if the uniform wasn't spot on, it's more about the equipment available. The idea is to get early war countries (like French and Polish) into action against equipment of similar strength.

Another who would prefer mid-late war.

So it's fair to say you guys are interested in Bolt Action, just not early war ;)

I like early war!! :)
Alas I am poor. :(
I could do some FJ for 41?
But also have late SS for fun.

In other words, I would be keen for an early war slow grow, but my preference for the army would be German Heer and I don't have the money for my ideal build. I could do Operation Mercury FJ at a pinch though. Or if you go late war use the opportunity to finish my SS with a Panther or 3.

I would be interested but unfortunately cash is an issue
along with the fact that im still trying to finish 40k orks, probably going to do an ultramarines heresy army and my Gates Concord!

How many models/units would I need and roughly how much cash would be needed to get a decent army?

Russell--depends on what you wanted to play, but you could drop $100 for 30-40 guys and have enough. Elite armies are smaller, and are the cheaper and less painting intensive way to do it.

I only really want to make an early war army, but if enough people really want to get in on it I'd be happy enough to open it to all comers.

Now, I had such a good time with Peter's 40k Slow Grow League that even though I have practically no interest in Bolt Action, I'm almost tempted to join in. Alas, I think I'll be focusing on 30k for the next few months. But I look forward to seeing the games at the club!

I would be interested have USA, Red Devils and Heer at the moment. Depending on where the games are to be held and how often the game needs played.

I am interested, but can only play two evenings a month due to shift work. I have an early war 1250pts worth of Australian desert army ready to play.

Looking at just one game a month, but looking at having it on a set night so everyone gets together. Which may be difficult to arrange given everyone's schedules, but part of the reason I'd like to do this is to meet and play against some new people, and broaden everyone's Bolt Action playing circle.

Does anyone have contacts for either PMGG or the Warwick High School group? Or have any suggestions for any other clubs we could include?
