Hey guys,

With ATC coming up this year, and the fact that we've pretty much got 3 guys likely to go who specialise in Eldar, (Mike, Tom and Myself). I thought i'd put up an idea for a Dark Eldar primary army I've been thinking about.

It's interesting, and something a little different. I experimented with it against Neil in his practise for Masters.

The idea is basically Drop-pod Eldar with some summoning for measure.

Archon - 2++ armour

5 warriors - 2 cannon venom
5 warriors

Raider
Raider
Raider

5 Spiritseers

5 Fire dragons in a serpent

5 Wraithguard in a Serpent
5 D-Scythe wraithguard in a serpent

Spiritseers roll powers, looking for inivisibility and shrouding. 2-3 Roll on summoning. Maybe one takes voice of twighlight if I'm worried about battlecannons (Neil.)

A unit of Wraithguard gets reserved with the archon and a couple of spiritseers (invis), dragons take a raider, other wraithguard squad in a raider. Warriors in venom can also deepstrike/normal reserve. Remaining raider can either take the 5 warriors and some spiritseers.

So hopefully on turn 2, archon squad comes down and nukes something, and the raider/dragons are able to hit soemthing, and start spitting out some daemons or throwing shriek around. Making the archon squad invisible helps too.

Wave serpents sit back, and hopefully get a shrouding bubble to hide in for a few turns.

This comes to about 1,800 on my estimates (no new DE codex), so there's room for a little more depending on the points limit.

Any thoughts guys?

An alternate list ditches the Dragons (and Serpent) in favour of 10 Cannon Wraithguard, and potentially some wargear to make them better in assault specifically against a tarpit. D-Scythes go in a raider (any point on the hull :)

The tactics and the armies arent that outlandish. The problem is theyve re-released every single codex in like 6 months, so noone actually knows whats going on anymore

Ontop of that, the changes with 7th, and the way in which codexes are structured makes for armies that can look starkly different to a year ago.

Plus eldar / dark eldar should auto lose when they summon deamons but aside from that my experience with de has been best not to load up on upgrades and just bring more. Wriathgaurd get expensive to transport or make survivable so try to keep that side of things cheep too. You must be thinking about using this sort of list in a non comunitity comp setting as I think your getting up there in the the comp points.
